Germany has officially opened its new embassy premises in the Janzour district of Tripoli, reaffirming its commitment to diplomatic engagement in Libya.
Libya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the move reflects Berlin’s efforts to enhance its presence in the country, following the resumption of its operations on September 9, 2021.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Taher Al-Baour, Libya’s acting foreign minister, reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting diplomatic missions and facilitating their work. He emphasized that strengthening diplomatic ties contributes to broader stability in the region.
The ministry also noted that the new embassy building underscores the importance of Libyan-German relations and Berlin’s continued support for Libya’s political and economic development.
