The Japanese Embassy in Libya has announced the launch of applications for the 2026 MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Government Scholarship, offering Libyan nationals a chance to pursue higher education in Japan.
In a statement shared by Libya’s Ministry of Youth on its official Facebook page on Wednesday, the embassy outlined key eligibility criteria. Applicants must be Libyan citizens and hold at least a bachelor’s degree by October 2025.
Candidates must also be under the age of 35 as of 1 April 2026—meaning they must be born on or after 2 April 1991—and demonstrate a genuine interest in continuing their studies in Japan.
The deadline for applications has been set for Saturday, 31 May 2025.
