The Administrative Control Authority has suspended the head of the Civil Status Authority from work for allegedly harming the public interest.

In a statement Sunday, the authority said the suspension of the official came by the authority’s chairman’s decision No. (1165) of 2023.

The suspension order mentions that a report in connection to the performance of the Civil Status Authority was submitted by the Monitoring and Assessment department at the authority.

According to the report, the violations range from administrative and financial irregularities to the lack of cooperation with members of the Administrative Control Authority and the failure of the Civil Status Authority's head to respond to the summons.
