The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced that it had provided food assistance to 6,000 people in Suluq and Qaminis towns, in addition to 4000 others in Benina in east Libya, with the aim of helping them meet their daily needs.

On its Facebook page, the ICRC said that residents of these three regions have long been suffering from difficult economic conditions as the lack of currency, high prices and irregular sources of income.

The Committee noted that the assistance included food, tarpaulins, blankets, mattresses, kitchen utensils and hygiene kits.
