Inhabitants of the region of Imsaad in the far east of Libya have threatened to close the city's border with Egypt in solidarity with the employees of Tobruk's port.

A source told local media that the people are intending to close the borders due to the security chaos that has been going on for some time and to voice their distress of the decision to close the port of Tobruk in view of its importance in the region along with the crossing border of Imsaad.

They residents stressed that the two of the land and sea borders are complementary to each other. Earlier this month Khalifa Haftar ordered the suspension of export and import from the port of Tobruk, replacing it with Benghazi's Port.
