In its latest update, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Libya has confirmed the rescue and interception of about 497 migrants off the Libyan coast and their return to Libya during the period from 3 to 9 April.

The IOM indicated that on April 8, 217 migrants, including 15 women and three children were returned to the port of Al-Zawiya, in addition to 120 others who were disembarked in the Maya region in a separate operation.

On April 9, 84 migrants were returned to the city of Al-Zawiya, while about 72 migrants, including 12 women and 13 children were returned in a separate operation on the same date to the immigration point in the Tripoli port.
