The Minister of Interior, Fathi Bashaga, along with the Minister of Foreign Affair, Mohamed Sayala, discussed with the Italian Foreign Affairs Minister Luigi Di Maio, on Wednesday, a number of issues, topping which was the current situation in Libya and the illegal immigration.

Future prospects and joint cooperation between both countries were also discussed. Di Maio expressed his sincere condolences to the victims who were killed due to explosive devices and mines laid by Haftar militias, stating that his country stands by the Libyan people.

The Libyan ministers, for their part, thanked Italy for its role in the mine detection and clearing operations.
