Minister Mabrouka Toghi of Culture and Knowledge Development met on Friday with Mohamed Ould Amar, Director General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALESCO), to discuss how to strengthen cooperation between Libya and the organization.
The meeting, held in Tunis, focused on the ALESCO Action Plan 2023-2026, particularly in the areas of heritage, traditional industries, and employee training.
Through a joint effort, the ministry said they aim to ensure the success of the Benghazi Arab Capital of Culture 2025 and draw upon the organization's expertise in overseeing such events.
Despite the recent instability in Libya, the state has remained committed to participating in most joint Arab events, as noted by Musa Al-Maqrif, Minister of Education/ Chairman of the Libyan National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science, during his attendance at a relevant conference in Nouakchott, Mauritania last February.
