earthquake forum

The Seismology Office of the Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences participated in the first Arab forum for preventing earthquake hazards in the Arab world, which was held in the Algerian capital during June 5-6.

The two-day forum, organized by the Arab Center for the Prevention of Earthquakes and Other Natural Hazards (ACPENH), brought together experts, policymakers, and representatives from across the region.

The forum aims to find technical solutions to reduce the risks of earthquakes, encourage scientific cooperation, and establish a data bank on preventing earthquakes and other natural disasters.

The group also discussed the establishment of an Arab network to monitor earthquakes, in addition to a seismic code for Arab countries, besides workshops that highlight the experiences of some Arab countries.
