Salah Meriheil, the ambassador of Libya to the UK, presented his credentials to Queen Elizabeth II in Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, officially beginning his duties as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Libya to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.

On this occasion, Meriheil conveyed to the queen the greetings of Muhammad Menfi, head of the Presidential Council, and Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, expressing Libya's gratitude for all the "efforts that the United Kingdom has made and is still making" for the stability of Libya.

He also affirmed his keenness to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between Libya and Britain in all fields and his confidence that the British government would provide assistance in this regard.
