The Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences announced that it will soon begin the field survey process and determine the best locations for seismic monitoring stations in Libya.

This comes after two earthquakes occurred in Libya on Thursday, October 12, in the areas southwest of Sirte and the Western Mountain, which were felt by citizens in Tripoli.

The Center confirmed the government's pledge to provide the necessary requirements to support the Center's work and supply equipment specialized in earthquake monitoring.

Work will be done through the center’s specialized teams in order to activate the modern network as soon as possible to serve researchers, decision makers, citizens and society, according to the center.
