The Libyan embassy in Sudan has announced the evacuation of 83 Libyans from Khartoum, including the Libyan diplomatic mission in Sudan, their families, Libyan students in the Sudanese arena, the staff of Afriqiyah Airways and employees of the Sahel and Sahara Bank.
The Libyan ambassador to Sudan, Fawzi Boumrez, said that members of the Libyan community arrived at dawn on Friday to the safe city of "Port Sudan" in preparation for their transfer to Libya, noting that only a very few Libyans remained to reside in separate areas in the capital, Khartoum, and that the embassy is currently preparing to evacuate them as soon as possible.
For more than a week, the Sudanese capital has been witnessing violent clashes between the Sudanese army forces and the Rapid Support Forces, as a result of which several countries sought to remove their nationals who were trapped in the areas of clashes.
