The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General/ Head of the UN mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Abdoulaye Bathily, underscored the importance of preserving the ceasefire agreement during a meeting with warlord Khalifa Haftar in Benghazi on Saturday.
According to the UNSMIL, Bathily touched upon the military establishment and stressed to Haftar the importance of unifying the army and security forces.
He reiterated his intention to listen to all Libyan stakeholders and reaffirmed UN support for a sustainable, Libyan-owned solution to restore peace and stability to Libya.
