The Minister of Justice, Halima Ibrahim, has stated that the agreement to exchange prisoners between Libya and Italy includes all Libyans in Italian prisons, including those accused in illegal immigration cases.

The Minister noted, through a post on Facebook, that the ministry seeks to sign similar agreements with other European and Arab countries, so that no Libyan prisoner is left abroad, as she put it.

The Ministry confirmed that the Minister of Justice, in her capacity as Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee and Chairman of the Committee for Libyan Prisoners Abroad, is making every effort to protect the rights and interests of Libyan citizens at home and abroad, and within the framework of her responsibilities established by the legislation in force, according to the Ministry.
