Misrata International Airport announced the resumption of flights after they had stopped two weeks ago as a result of maintenance work being carried out at the airport.

An official of the information office at the airport, Walid Mahjoub, said that Misrata airport is ready to resume flights from Wednesday. Mahjoub added that they are waiting for permission from the Civil Aviation Authority to reopen after maintenance of the airport runway was carried out by a Libyan company.

Misrata airport suspended air traffic last April to carry out maintenance on the airport runway and repair some of the cracks that had appeared in it.
