The Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, has reiterated his country support for a strong and democratic Libya, capable of contributing to advancing the Maghreb Union, saying “Libya is an essential partner in achieving the aspirations of the peoples of the Maghreb towards integration and development.

During the ministerial meeting of the African Union Peace and Security Council on national reconciliation in Libya, Bourita said, "the position of the of Morocco on the Libyan issue remains firm and clear." 

Bourita also indicated that his country supports the efforts made by the Libyan Presidential Council, the President of the Republic of the Congo, and Chairman of the African Union High-level Committee on Libya, to hold a comprehensive conference for national reconciliation in Libya.
