The Minister of Education of Government of National Unity, Musa al-Maqrif, has signed with Minister of National Education, Primary Education and Sports in Morocco, Chakib Benmoussa, a memorandum of understanding and cooperation for a period of 5 years in the field of education, in order to strengthen relations between the two countries, according to an announcement by the Libyan Ministry of Education on Sunday.
The ministry reported that the MoU was signed on Friday, at the end of the 13th Conference of Arab Ministers of Education, which was hosted by Morocco on May 31.
It explained that the MoU aims to establish a framework for bilateral cooperation and understanding in the field of education between the two brotherly countries, and that the areas of cooperation include exchange of information and expertise in preparation and formation of educational, administrative and technical cadres.
The MoU also includes integrating information and communication technology into the educational field, developing educational partnership between educational institutions of both countries, encouraging the participation of female and male students in scientific, sports and cultural events and competitions, as well as experts in conferences, seminars and workshops.
The MoU in the field of scientific and educational research also provides for establishing partnerships and facilitating exchange of visits by educational researchers, in addition to forming a joint working committee in order to facilitate the implementation, supervision and evaluation of the MoU, and that the joint committee to hold its meetings regularly and when necessary, in either country, according to Libyan Ministry of Education.
