NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg has stressed that there will be no military solution in Libya, adding that NATO supports the efforts of the United Nations for a peaceful political solution to the present crisis.

This statement came in a telephone conversation between Stoltenberg and the Head of the Presidential Council (PC), Fayez Al-Sarraj, in which Stoltenberg expressed his deep concern over the recent escalation of violence in Libya.

He repeated that there was no place for a military solution in the country, reiterating the need to implement the arms embargo correctly, by land and air, and not only by sea, adding that NATO considers the Government of National Accord (GNA) the legitimate ruling body of Libya, stating firmly that it would not deal with any other entity.
