The senior Darfur rebel, Suleiman Marjan, was captured by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in North Darfur State, Sudan News Agency (SUNA) quoted RSF Spokesman, Col. Abdul-Rahman Al-Gaali, as saying on Thursday. According to SUNA, Marjan was recruiting youth and children for Justice and Equality Movement in Libya. He and one of his aides were captured while they were riding a car with four mortars and personal weapon near Jebel Issa, Al-Malha Locality in North Darfur State. According to RSF, Marjan was about to leave Sudan to Libya.

The Commander of the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) of the Presidential Council, Idris Boukhmada, has warned all members of PFG against committing any act that might cause disruption of work in the oil fields and ports. In a statement on Friday, the PFG demanded its members to continue work in securing the fields and facilities, and not to make any statements in the media under any circumstances, criticizing the calls for protests and insubordination. The statement accused who carry out what it described such "shameful acts" of tampering with the only source of income in Libya and uses it as a means of blackmail or as a means of pressure to meet their demands, which will have disastrous consequences on the state. It also stressed that their demands can be effectively promoted through institutionalized procedures in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in Libya.

The Belgian government has denied reports of the disappearance of 10 billion dollars of Libyan frozen funds in Belgium under mysterious circumstances. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Didier Reynders, confirmed that the information published by the Le Vif weekly magazine was fake news, insisting that the Libyan assets are safe and secure. The Belgian minister expressed his regret for using misinformation by some parliamentarians in his country to denigrate Belgium in front of the international community amid its willingness to present its candidature for the non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.

Local residents in Mizda and Shiqiqah towns in Nafousa Mountain held a protest in front of the Mizda hospital on Thursday to demand the Ministry of Health to reject the resignation of Dr. Ali al-Kabbashi from his position as director of the hospital. The protesters urged the Ministry of Health to provide the necessary support to the hospital as being the only general hospital in the region. The hospital has proved very successful in the past period in performing the highest rate of surgery compared to other public hospitals. Dr. Ali al-Kabbashi submitted his resignation on the backdrop of the failure to provide the hospital with the necessary support, which had its negative effect on the performance of the hospital, in addition to the inability to pay the salaries of its staff.

The Minister of Transport of the Presidential Council, Milad Maatouq, discussed with the British Ambassador to Libya, Frank Baker, the possibility of facilitating the procedures for granting visas to students and trainees in the Libyan transport sector. Baker expressed the willingness of his country as a member of the European Aviation Safety Agency, to consider lifting the air embargo on Libyan companies to fly over European airspace, according to the Office of Information of the Ministry. He also affirmed his country's support for cooperation in the field of training in the transport and communications sector. The two sides also discussed the access of UK investors in the fields of railways and metro, ports and airports, as well as the possibility of supporting transit trade between Asia and Africa through investment within Libya.

Al-Feel (elephant) oil field remains closed despite the announcement of the Petroleum Facilities Guard of reaching an agreement with the guards to reopen the field, Reuters reported. The news agency quoted an engineer working in the field as saying that some of the staff returned to the field on Wednesday in preparation for resuming work, however, the operating process is still pending. Al-Feel oil field, which produces 70 thousand barrels per day, was closed on February 23 after the withdrawal of the guards, to protest the delay in the payment of their salaries.

Member of the Libyan Constitution Drafting Assembly, Nadia Omran, has criticized UN envoy Ghassan Salame's statement on the upcoming elections, in which he ignored the constitutional referendum issue. Nadia accused the UN mission of using delay tactics, reminding it of its primary task as to support the Libyans in establishing a state of law and institutions. She also called on the UN mission to stop manipulating the fate of the Libyans and to respect the principles and values of the Charter of the United Nations, instead of being a stumbling block to state building.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Saddik Al-Kabir, accused Thursday the Chairman of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, of being responsible for delays in implementation of the General Electricity Company’s plans to solve outages. In a letter addressed to Al-Sarraj, Al-Kabir denied accusations against the bank's failure to facilitate the work of the Electricity Company and hindering it from addressing the electricity crisis in the country. He emphasized the bank's readiness to cooperate with the company and the responsible bodies in order to resolve the electricity crisis, noting that electricity is a key tool for developing the national economy and to implement new development projects in the coming period.

Libya coastguards rescue 125 illegal migrants on a rubber boat off Al-Zawiya shores. The migrants were from African countries and only two were from Bangladesh, media office of the Libyan Coast Guard reported, adding that there were women and children among the migrants. It added that the migrants were sent to Tripoli Naval Base, where they received humanitarian and medical assistance before being taken to Tajoura migrants’ detention center.

The second deputy head of the High Council of State (HCS) Mohammed Emazib said the United Arab Emirates sent Libyan eastern warlord Khalifa Haftar money from the Libyan frozen assets in Abu Dhabi. Emazib told Alnabaa TV on Saturday that the news varies about the amount of Libyan frozen assets in the UAE, expressing concern over the frozen assets in Arab and African countries. He also added that the Presidential Council is doing its best to partially unfreeze Libya’s assets abroad. He denied that Libya lost 10 billion euros in Belgium.

Sirte Oil and Gas Company reported Saturday that a second methanol factory heating unit exploded leaving one worker injured. The company added that firemen rushed to the explosion site and contained the fire. According to the company's website, leakage in the unit led to the explosion, which caused massive material damage.
