The National Oil Corporation dismissed reports that it had contracted an Emirati company to develop Al-Dhahra oil field, confirming that the contract was concluded with the local Esnad Company.

The NOC said it was surprised by what it described as silence when the field was destroyed for more than 7 years, while criticism began when its development began in an acceptable technical and commercial manner.

The NOC noted that the stability and increase of production, which contributed to the stability of electricity and income for the public treasury in a country that relies on oil by about 95%, is a national goal to which everyone should contribute.

Earlier, Minister of Oil and Gas, Mohamed Aoun, announced that he had submitted a complaint to the Administrative Control Authority about the violation of regulations, regarding the NOC negotiation with an Emirati company to rehabilitate the Al-Dhahra and Al-Bahi oil fields.
