The Presidential Council (PC) has called on Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah to attend a meeting on Sunday to discuss the appointment of the defence minister, with the aim to bring this matter to conclusion.

As the Supreme Commander of the Libyan army, the PC called on Dbeibah to nominate a defense minister without delay.

It gave notice that in the case the PM did not attend the meeting Sunday; the PC will name a defense minister and refer it directly to the House of Representatives for a vote.

The PC's order comes after the Parliament demanded in its session yesterday to name a defense minister, refusing to approve the budget for the Defence Ministry until settling this matter, according to the Spokesman of Parliament Abdullah Belhaiq.
