The Public Prosecutor's Office has announced the arrest of a person who kidnapped a 4-year-old child in Zliten.
The office explained in a statement on Sunday, that the accused was arrested after receiving reports of the kidnapping of the child, with the aim of forcing his family to pay a financial ransom of one hundred thousand dollars.
The Department of Information and Communications Affairs in the Public Prosecutor’s Office identified the accused, and then members of the police force in the Zliten Criminal Investigation Department were able to arrest him and free the child.
