The General Directorate of Security Operations under the parallel government has launched a security operation targeting human traffickers on the desert road south of Al-Bayda, leading to the arrest of 14 illegal migrants.
According to a statement posted on its Facebook page on Monday, the directorate received information about traffickers operating in the Al-Bayda desert area early Sunday. In response, five patrols were dispatched to sweep the area.
The patrols spotted two suspicious vehicles, the first vehicle was intercepted, with the driver and nine migrants on board, while the second vehicle was later stopped, carrying a driver and five migrants.
All individuals were taken to the directorate’s headquarters for legal procedures before being referred to the relevant authorities.
