The Municipality of Tarhuna on Tuesday implemented a ban on holding livestock markets.
The decision was made following reports from the head of the Tarhuna Municipal Guard and the head of the Agricultural Police Department in the city regarding suspected cases of foot-and-mouth disease among some sheep in the Sidi al-Sayid area.
The ban will remain in effect until control over the disease's hotspots is achieved.
