The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced that the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Hanna Tetteh, met with a group of ambassadors in Tunisia at the invitation of the Swiss Embassy, where she briefed them on her visits to Libya and the region.
The Special Representative provided an update to the participants on the political process, focusing on the meetings of the Advisory Committee, emphasizing the importance of maintaining unity among all member states to support the mission’s efforts in overcoming the political impasse.
She also attentively listened to concerns raised regarding restrictions on civic space and the recent crackdown on migrants, reaffirming the UNSMIL continued commitment in Libya to addressing these issues in coordination with the Libyan authorities.
