The Tunisian President Kais Saied, confirmed on Tuesday, his country’s recognition of the internationally recognised Government of National Accord (GNA) as the legitimate ruling body of Libya, saying that the wishes of the Libyan people must be respected.

During a meeting with his Foreign Minister Noureddine Erray, he said that Tunisia rejects any interference in the unity of Libya and its people, adding that there is no solution for Libya other than a political one, noting that the way forward for Libya was through national harmony, without any external interference.

Also in a statement, the Presidency of the Republic of Tunisia said that the meeting focused on present developments in Libya, along with regional and international developments on the situation.
