The Tunisian Prime Minister, Hichem Mechichi, announced an official visit to Libya soon to congratulate the new government, along with the Libyan people, on the occasion of the election of the new authority and its assumption of responsibility, considering it “the beginning of stability.”

In a media statement on Sunday, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of Tunisia’s independence, Mechichi said that he hoped that his visit to Libya would provide more opportunities for joint cooperation between both countries.

He stated that Tunisians and Libyans are one entity, spread between two countries, who are not only linked by the economy, but the connection extends culturally and even deeper, through family roots, as he put it, adding that the peace and stability of Libya is considered by him as peace also for Tunisia.
