The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Libya, Georgette Gagnon, met with Benghazi Municipality's Mayor, Saqr Bu Jwari, to discuss assistance for the displaced in Benghazi and the impact of the floods that struck Derna and the eastern region in September.
The meeting, attended by members from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the United Nations Development Programme, focused on the UN's humanitarian response to the floods and sustainable solutions for the displaced in Benghazi.
They also discussed ongoing reconstruction activities through the Benghazi and Derna Reconstruction Fund, with the UN committing to work with the Benghazi Municipality in this regard.
