The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Filippo Grandi, described the truce in Libya as fragile but said it should be well invested.

Grandi said in an interview with the Italian newspaper, Corriere della Sera, that it is necessary to support the political process leading to the elections and to unify international positions on the Libyan file to achieve more stability in the country, and make sure it would not be a proxy battleground once again.

The High Commissioner also called for the closure of immigration centres in Libya, and to revitalize the humanitarian channels, who suspended their work due to the coronavirus epidemic.
