The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has announced the start of nominations period the three-member Presidential Council and of the country’s prime minister,
The UNSMIL said in a statement that a meeting of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) is due to be held in Switzerland in order to conduct the voting process between 1 to 5 February.
The deadline for candidacy for the executive authority will last for no longer than a week, beginning from Thursday gone, until the following Thursday 28 January, it clarified.
The UN mission added that a committee consisting of three members from the three separate regions in Libya will be formed to compile the lists of candidates to go forward for voting.
