The US ambassador to Libya Richard Norland said, following a meeting with Chadian President Mahamat Deby in N'Djamena, that regaining stability in the country would boost regional security and ensure that Libyan territory couldn't be used in any of the region's conflicts.

The US embassy in Libya said on Twitter that Norland was very grateful to President Deby for lending Chad's voice in strong support of the UN-facilitated political process in neighboring Libya.

"Restoring unity, stability, and sovereignty in Libya will enhance regional security at a difficult time and ensure that Libyan territory is not abused by interested parties to fuel conflict or sow instability in the region.” Norland said.
