The US Embassy in Libya has rejected Haftar’s announcement of spurning all political endeavors for peace.
The embassy added that the USA regrets what it described as “Haftar’s suggestion”, stressing that any change in political structure in Libya could not be imposed by a unilateral declaration.
The embassy did however welcome any opportunity to engage Haftar, along with all other parties, in a serious dialogue on the best way forward to resolve the present crisis and to make peaceful progress in the country.
