The World Food Program (WFP) said on Friday that it is scaling up to support 100,000 people in the hardest-hit areas affected by Storm Daniel in Libya.

“The food supply chain in and around Derna has been severely disrupted. WFP and our partner LibAid have used pre-positioned food stocks to so far reach affected families in the immediate aftermath”, the WFP explained on X platform.

A week ago, the WFP launched an urgent appeal for donations to relief the victims of Storm Daniel, which claimed the lives of thousands of people in eastern Libya, noting that emergency food WFP assistance had been distributed to more than two thousand people in 16 locations in Benghazi.
