The World Happiness Report for 2018 published by the United Nations' Sustainable Development Solutions Network has ranked Libya 70th in the list of the happiest countries in the world among 156 countries.

The Scandinavian countries topped the list with Finland coming first and Norway second, while the United States was ranked 18, followed by the United Kingdom in the nineteenth place.

According to the report, Libya is happier than Turkey, Portugal, and Greece, while Tunisia came in 111th place leaving Egypt dragging ten points behind.

The report classifies countries based on the following criteria including the Gross Domestic Product per capita, freedom, life expectancy, social support, and generosity.
