The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, participated on Tuesday in the ceremony declaring the city of Benghazi as the Capital of Culture in the Islamic World for the year 2024.

In his speech during the ceremony, Dbeibah stressed that choosing Benghazi as the capital of Islamic culture is a confirmation of its great status and its great and distinguished cultural heritage, noting that Benghazi was and still is a beacon of knowledge, as it founded the first Libyan university that produced thinkers and scholars.

This represents an important message, which confirms that Benghazi will be a model for reconciliation, redressing grievances, and strengthening the social fabric.
