President Mohammed Menfi of the Presidential Council (PC) emphasized to the British Ambassador to Libya, Martin Longden, the importance of ongoing British support for the High Financial Committee as a tool to ensure fair resource distribution with disclosure, transparency, and efficiency in spending.
As per a PC statement, Menfi received Ambassador Longden on Wednesday to deliberate on the political landscape in Libya and the necessity of cohesive collaboration among the stakeholders involved in addressing the Libyan crisis.
Menfi reiterated his commitment to sustained consultations with all stakeholders to facilitate a comprehensive political resolution, culminating in inclusive, free, and fair elections agreeable to all Libyans.
In a previous engagement last March, Menfi discussed with Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah the activation of the High Financial Committee to ensure the effective management of government finances aligned with principles of equitable distribution and prudent resource utilization.
