Haftar

Khalifa Haftar met Sunday in his office in Rajma in Benghazi the resigned Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Abdoulaye Bathily, and the Deputy Head of UNSMIL, Stephanie Koury.

Haftar's media office said that the meeting had discussed the latest political developments in the Libyan crisis and the importance of the UNSMIL's continued efforts to advance the political process in order to hold simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people.

"Haftar thanked and appreciated Bathily for his endeavors and efforts throughout his period as Head of UNSMIL, wishing his Deputy, Stephanie Koury, success in her duties." The media office said. 

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of the House of Representatives's designated government, Osama Hammad, the commander of ground forces operations in Haftar’s forces, his son Saddam Haftar, a number of political advisors to Haftar, and some employees of the UNSMIL.
