The Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Mossa Al-Koni, has welcomed the election of a new Head of the High Council of State, saying it's an adherence to the principle of peaceful transfer of power.

Al-Koni hoped that the issue of electoral laws would be resolved soon to hold parliamentary and presidential elections. Al-Koni's remarks came during his meeting with the UN envoy to Libya Abdoulaye Bathily, with whom he discussed developments in the political process and the situation in Niger and Sudan, as well as its repercussions on Libya and neighboring countries.

Bathily presented to Al-Koni the results of his recent meetings by communicating with all parties and working with neighboring countries to restore stability in Niger and Sudan.

Meanwhile, Al-Koni voiced the Presidential Council's concern about the unconstitutional change that took place in Niger, expressing the need for efforts by neighboring countries with the ECOWAS group to calm the situation and ensure the stability and peace of Niger and the countries of the region.
