The Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Mossa Al-Koni, said he was confident that the new board of directors of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) would contribute to developing the economy and overcoming all obstacles that had hindered the development process over the past years.
This came during Al-Koni's reception of the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Gianluca Alberini, as they discussed the visit of the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, to Tripoli last week, according to a statement issued by the Presidential Council on Sunday.
The statement confirmed that the meeting also touched on joint cooperation in the sectors of health, education, archaeological studies and the economy through joint technical committees.
Italy's Ambassador said that Rome was the first European country to resume its flights with Libya, adding that work had been underway to complete the project to rebuild and develop Tripoli International Airport.
The meeting also reviewed the steps taken by Italy with the Libyan side to develop the southern regions in the agricultural sector and complete projects that have been suspended for years.
The Italian ambassador stressed his country's continued efforts to support Libya in order to reach a solution to the political crisis, to ensure stability, by communicating with countries interested in the Libyan issue, to resolve the crisis in cooperation with the UN mission.
