Presidential Council (PC) Vice-President Abdullah Al-Lafi met on Thursday with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Jean-Claude Jacossou and African Union Advisor for National Reconciliation, Mohamed Hassan Al-Labbad.
The Congolese FM conveyed greetings from President Denis Sassou Nguesso/ Chairman of the AU High-Level Committee on Libya to the PC, praising the council's efforts to promote reconciliation and stability in the country.
During the meeting, Jacossou briefed Al-Lafi on his recent talks in Benghazi and the confidence-building efforts made to ensure Libyan ownership of the political process and that all parties involved are included.
For his part, Al-Lafi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Nguesso's role in supporting stability in Libya, as well as the AU's efforts in backing the national reconciliation project.
