The Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Mangoush, called for speedy activation of the bodies emanating from the Community of Sahel–Saharan States to face the joint threats, especially organized crime of extremist groups, reiterating the importance of the community in achieving peace and security.

Al-Mangoush added in her speech at the 21st round of the executive council of the Community of Sahel–Saharan States in Morocco’s Rabat on Tuesday.

The Libyan FM indicated that it is vital that the Community of Sahel–Saharan States becomes stronger and more active, saying Libya is ready to host the community in Tripoli and believes in comprehensive African cooperation as part of the African development.

Al-Mangoush chaired the session for some time as per a request from Chad, the current chair of Community of Sahel–Saharan States, which was a positive sign that Libya could have a return soon to the African body.
