Major General Salah Aldin Al-Namroush, commander of the Western Coast Military Zone, stressed the need for meaningful action to bring arms under the control of the state.

Al-Namroush’s remarks came at a workshop on Saturday entitled (The State’s Monopoly On Arms And Their Use According To The Law).

The Joint Operations Centre organized the workshop in cooperation with the Peace Foundation for Relief and Charitable Works and the Al-Manazir Club in Al-Zawiya.

The event, hosted by the Scout Jodayem Forest, featured the participation of the military community, researchers, and media bloggers.

Al-Namroush stressed the need to criminalize the possession of weapons by individuals and take measures to achieve this goal.

He also affirmed the readiness of the West Coast Military Region to work with all national forces to collect weapons and stop the bloodshed caused by gun violence, which is increasing day by day, as he put it.
