The director of Civil Status Department for the Green Mountain region in east Libya and a colleague have been abducted, local sources reported.
Mohammed Al-Ahmir together with the head of ID system office were snatched by a group of militias at Al-Abraq Airport in Bayda on Monday after conducting a working visit to Tripoli.
Their whereabouts is still unknown.
Civil Status Department staffers in the eastern region denounced the abduction and urged so-called “the General Command of Libyan Army” to intervene and secure their release.
