The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, denied removing the initiative of youths' housing loans as reported on the media, adding on Twitter that the loan initiative included the first phase 25,000 loans and was still ongoing.

"The rumors are false and the circulated decision on media was just a regulatory measure." Dbeibah said, adding that the decision didn't pertain to the first phase as the Savings Bank has funds to cover it, but the new measure pertains to the second phase, whis hasn't been announced yet.

A decision paper signed by Dbeibah was circulated on social media asking for the scrapping of the funding for the youths' housing loans.

Several municipalities issued lists of the names of the beneficiaries of those loans, but some of them had problems because of the decision and protested against what was described as forgery and manipulation of the lists, which led the government at a later time to stop issuing lists of beneficiaries.
