The Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush discussed with the Interior Minister-designate, Emad Al-Trabelsi, the issue of the children of Libyan women married to foreigners, according to Cabinet Resolution No.209 of 2022.
This decision, issued on October 20, 2022, is related to granting the children of Libyan women married to foreigners all the rights of citizens, as the decision says that “their children enjoy all the rights enjoyed by Libyan citizens, including free treatment and education at home and admission to Libyan schools abroad.”
The decision also granted the children of Libyan women married to foreigners "exemption from the condition of obtaining a Libyan visa when entering Libya, and obliging their husbands to obtaining an entry visa upon arrival, in addition to the obligation of Libyan embassies and consulates abroad to provide them with services similar to Libyan citizens."
Meanwhile, the two ministers discussed a number of files, including ways to support border security and confront smuggling, illegal immigration and organized crime, to maintain the security and stability of the country, in addition to discussing strengthening cooperation and coordination among the components of the two ministries.
