‎The Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, and the newly appointed governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Naji Issa, discussed developing banking services, electronic payment systems, and laws related to the banking sector.

‎This came during a meeting in the city of Al-Gubba, in the presence of Deputy Governor Marie Al-Barasi, after they took the legal oath at the House of Representatives to begin their work following the unanimous granting of confidence by the HoR.

A statement published by the spokesman for the HoR, Abdullah Blehiq, said that Saleh had stressed the need for the CBL to continue to maintain the reserves and financial sustainability of the state, and the importance of continuous communication with the Presidency of the HoR.

The new CBL governor and his deputy took the legal oath at the HoR during an official session in the city of Benghazi on Tuesday. According to the HoR, an agreement was reached last Monday by unanimous votes of 108 members and in conjunction with the High Council of State to select Naji Issa and Marie Al-Barasi for the CBL job.
