Charge D'Affaires a.i. of the Indonesian Embassy in Tripoli, Dede Rifai, along with Counselor Rendy Ramanda, held a meeting with Libya's Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Saleh Khalifah Al-Ghoul, to discuss enhancing educational cooperation.

Rifai expressed gratitude for the warm reception of 194 Indonesian students who received scholarships to study at Libyan universities.

Meanwhile, 44 Libyan students are studying at various universities in Indonesia, facilitated by the Indonesian Embassy, which has promoted collaboration between institutions in both countries.

Six Indonesian universities and 31 institutions supporting the Developing Countries Partnership scholarship program have provided opportunities for students from various nations, including Libya.

Deputy Minister Al-Ghoul voiced a strong interest in increasing higher education cooperation and announced that the Libyan Ministry of Higher Education will draft an MoU on Libya-Indonesia Higher Education Cooperation, aiming to secure special scholarships for Libyan students, separate from the general pool.

The meeting also highlighted challenges faced by Libyan students in obtaining visas and residence permits in Indonesia.
