The Libyan Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush met with the Italian ambassador to Libya Giuseppe Buccino in Tripoli to celebrate his work period as Italy's ambassador while he prepares to leave the job for Gianluca Alberini.
Al-Mangoush hailed Buccino's efforts as a resident ambassador during his two terms of work in Libya, the first that started in 2011 and the current one that began in 2019, in strengthening friendship between the two countries, wishing him all success in his upcoming diplomatic work. She also praised the role of the Italian diplomatic mission, as it did not leave Libya despite all the circumstances that the country witnessed in the past years.
In the meantime, the Italian ambassador expressed his thanks and gratitude for the facilities provided to him by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of National Unity during his tenure in the country, adding that they helped him perform his diplomatic duties to consolidate the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Nova news agency in Italy has previously said that Buccino would leave the Libya job in June and start a new job at the Italian embassy in Spain, while Alberini would be the new ambassador, knowing that he was a commercial advisor at the Italian embassy in Libya in 1994, chaired the 2009 Global Partnership Working Group at the Italian G8 Presidency, and held the position of Deputy Director General and Central Director for the United Nations and Human Rights at the Italian Foreign Ministry.
