Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbiebah has reaffirmed Libya's readiness to help Turkey rebuild the earthquake-hit areas during a meeting with Turkish Ambassador Kanaan Yilmaz on Tuesday.

Dbeibah received the ambassador at his office, where they reviewed bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The Turkish diplomat conveyed to Dbeibah President Erdogan's greetings to the Libyan people and their government on the occasion of Ramadan.

Following the devastating earthquake that hit southern Turkey last February, Libya announced a $50 million package of assistance as a first payment to contribute to the reconstruction of the affected areas.

The disaster that also hit Syria has claimed the lives of over 50,000 people.
