Libyan authorities have rescued 31 Syrian migrants after their boat capsized off the coast near the city of Al-Khums.
The Stability Support Apparatus confirmed that 25 of the survivors were in good health, while four were hospitalized in intensive care. Tragically, two migrants lost their lives later despite efforts to save them.
Responding to reports of a capsized vessel near Al-Suwaidiyah beach in the Selin area, rescue teams quickly mobilized to recover the migrants and bring the boat ashore.
The apparatus revealed that the boat, reportedly purchased by the migrants, was destroyed by burning to prevent future use and due to the lack of identifiable ownership.
Authorities have taken the necessary legal steps, transferring the rescued migrants to the appropriate agencies to complete processing.
